For Sale: 1941 BMW R75 WH Motorcycle and  Sidecar

History of this bike:  Shipped to Luftwaffe (airforce) in Gardaladen, Germany. Likely used at a training center due to lack of airfields in the area. After the war, believed to be captured by the English and resided in England until the late 1970s. Acquired by a Wichita, KS BMW dealer and used as a parade bike until 2007. Currently owned and located in Michigan.

Condition:

This 1941 R75 WH is 98% complete and includes accessories as seen in the photos. This bike did not experience the harshness of war likely because it only ever served as a training vehicle. All the numbers match (Frame, motor, sidecar, tag),  Many original components from the factory. Currently painted as a desert bike, but originally finished in Luftwaffe Grey. A gallon of the correct paint can be provided with the sale of this bike.  

Currently it does not start. It will need a full tune up,  as it last ran in 2018 at Kubel corps in Ohio at that time the transmission second gear didn’t enguage. Kickstart Restorations Could deliver this to its new owner as a running/riding bike at an additional cost

Produced by BMW from 1941 to 1944, the R75 was a key component of the German military's transport fleet, prized for its versatility and reliability in various terrains. Its rugged construction, featuring a powerful 750cc horizontally opposed twin-cylinder engine, made it well-suited for both combat and reconnaissance missions.

Production Numbers and Features:

During its production run, BMW manufactured approximately 16,500 R75 motorcycles, it is believed that today only 1500 to 2500 still exist!  The R75 was equipped with several notable features, including a four-speed manual transmission with reverse gear, shaft drive, and a locking differential for enhanced off-road performance. Its sidecar, designed to accommodate a gunner or additional equipment, further increased its utility on the battlefield.
